Joe Cooney TD on Hemp Production in Ireland

I was delighted to welcome Daniel Lyons of Wild Atlantic Hemp and Margaret Cotter, Chairperson of Loop Head Together CLG, to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture this week.
Hemp production presents a real opportunity to diversify Irish farming, create new income streams and support rural communities. I raised a number of questions with our guests about the potential of the sector and what is needed to help it grow here in Ireland.
