About Joe

Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney, a native of O’Callaghan’s Mills, has represented County Clare in Dáil Éireann since November 2024. He serves on the Joint Oireachtas Committees on Agriculture and Food; Housing, Local Government and Heritage; and Fisheries and Maritime Affairs.

Before his election to the Dáil, Deputy Cooney served on Clare County Council from 2004 to 2024, representing the Killaloe Municipal District (MD). He was elected Cathaoirleach for 2023–24 and also served as Cathaoirleach of Killaloe MD.

Deputy Cooney is a former Chair (2016–2020) and Vice-Chair (2010–2016) of Clare GAA and is former Chair of O’Callaghan’s Mills GAA.

Constituency Clinic

Joe will be hosting a countywide programme of walk-in clinics during the autumn months. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome at my Constituency Office at Lower Market Street in Ennis on weekdays from 10.00am to 4.30pm.
